While most Americans identify as Independents, our political system acts as if we live in a strictly red vs blue society in a sense of comic-book fiction; good vs evil.
While the establishment continues to entrench itself in immense corruption and power for self-gain, the American people are left feeling uncared for, and therefore disinterested and turned off from what’s actually happening.
While the mainstream media works primarily to promote their own agenda and defend their own side of politics while trying to paint their opponents as the enemy of the people, we lose real journalism that accurately reflects the truth as to what is really happening.
The reality is the American people are tired of the insane tribalism being flamed by both sides of the political aisle. Both sides take the fringe extreme portion from the other side and apply it to the entirety of the group, giving us a false sense that half of our fellow Americans are our mortal enemies.
The Independent Flame serves to break through the tribal behavior on both sides. Journalism is supposed to reflect the truth, even when it’s an opinion; not ignoring or exaggerating facts to promote one’s own agenda.
We aim to cover topics not just because it is relevant, but because it is the truth. As such, our mission is to promote independent thinking, reject tribalism, cite sources for all claims made, and highlight the truths, even when they are hard truths.
